I recently wrote a blog post on my experience with the Phyzix MD Cleanse. When I started the 10-day process, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as my blog post described, I was pleasantly surprised at how manageable and effective it was. Not only does it cleanse the body of toxins, but I found through the nutrition plan provided that healthy, nutritious eating wasn’t difficult. In fact, healthy eating could be very delicious with the help of vegan and paleo recipes. Cravings for sugar and carbs dissipated, and I began enjoying nutrient-packed fruits, vegetables and lean meats so much more. Also, before I did the cleanse, I didn’t realize how much bloating I had, and the cleanse expelled that in addition to losing a couple pounds. But, the cleanse ended after 10 days and it’s now three weeks later, so now what? Here’s some interesting information on what to expect following the cleanse.
You May Find You Want to Stick With It
I felt so great after completing the 10-day Phyzix MD Cleanse that it made me hesitant to go back to eating sugar, dairy, wheat and processed foods. While some people may not have negative effects from these foods, I found that by removing them from my diet, my digestion was better, I had more energy, I slept better at night and my stomach didn’t hurt after meals. The great thing about the Phyzix MD Cleanse is that the products can be used outside of the cleanse for prolonged periods of time. So, I continued making shakes with the Phyzix Protein Powder and continued taking the Phyzix Probiotic Max and Optimizer Plus. I also continued with the nutrition plan provided with the cleanse.
Since starting the cleanse, I’ve lost 6 lbs. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but the key is that I’ve also gained muscle and between that and the fat loss, I dropped a full clothing size. Keep in mind though, the cleanse is not meant for weight loss, but it’s a natural effect when you’re eating healthier and exercising more. I’m so happy with the results and the new health and well-being achieved, that I plan to stick to the nutrition guide long-term.
For the Best Results, Combine Your New Healthy Eating with Fitness
As they say, abs are made in the kitchen, but the truth is, exercise certainly helps. Plus, just like healthy, nutritious food is good for you, exercise is equally as important as it can help prevent disease and strengthens your heart and body. It can even help you live longer. What I found with the cleanse is that by eating healthier and feeling better, I actually started to look forward to going to the gym. It started to become a part of the day I no longer dreaded. Suddenly, the stairs leading up to my third-floor office didn’t seem so laborious anymore and that 10K Thanksgiving Turkey Trot seems more feasible.
You Have to Plan Ahead and Get Creative
The cleanse drastically changed my eating habits, but I found that sadly, in today’s world, healthy eating doesn’t always come easy. While most restaurants have options that are wheat-free and dairy-free, not all do. And, when it comes to snacks, healthy, unprocessed snacks aren’t always readily available. After getting stuck a couple times not having good options, I started trying to plan ahead more and to always keep healthy snacks like almonds or a banana in my purse. It can also be difficult to eat at other people’s houses if they’re serving a meal like tacos. However, I found you just have to get creative sometimes. For example, I went to a taco night and just made a taco salad out of the ingredients and nixed the tortillas, cheese and sour cream.
When You Get Cravings, Find Recipes that Provide Healthy Substitutes
Initially during the cleanse, I had a lot of cravings, but as the detox process unfolded, I craved sugar and carb-laden foods less and less. But, even after several weeks, there are times I just really crave a big plate of pasta or a gooey berry cobbler. I found that for nearly every food, you can find a healthier alternative. For a healthier pasta, just replace the pasta noodles with spaghetti squash, the beef with ground turkey and the pasta sauce for an organic and sugar-free version (surprise—many pasta sauces have sugar). I also love this wheat-free berry cobbler recipe by WellnessMama:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond flour
- 4 cups berries (strawberries, raspberries and blue berries)
- ¼ cup coconut oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Stevia (to taste)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Lightly grease an 8×8 baking dish
- Place berries in prepared baking dish
- In a bowl, mix the almond flour, coconut oil, vanilla extract and Stevia
- Using your hands, crumble the mixture over the berries
- Cook for about 20 minutes
It’s Helpful to Get Your Family On Board
A healthy lifestyle is so much easier when you have support and when you’re not in it alone. I’m thankful my husband agreed to do the cleanse alongside me, and he has also decided to stick with the nutrition plan since he too reaped many benefits. Since we’re both dedicated to healthy eating and exercise, it makes cooking and going out to dinner so much easier since we both like to eat the same types of foods. It’s also helpful to have that shoulder to lean on or to keep you in check. For example, when I was craving enchiladas from my favorite Mexican dive, my husband made a healthier option: A brown rice, veggie, avocado and chicken bowl with salsa. It was delicious!
Do You Have to Continue the Cleanse?
The answer is no. Continuing with the nutrition plan in the guide that comes with the Phyzix MD Cleanse was a personal decision and purely because the plan had me and my husband feeling so much better inside and out. There is nothing wrong with adding wheat or dairy back in and eating desserts in moderation. They key is to not fall back into habits like regularly eating fast food or highly processed, sugar-loaded foods that lack nutrients. According to the article The Effects of Fast Food on the Body by HealthLine, foods that are high in carbohydrates and trans fat with little to no fiber can cause high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease or stroke, insulin resistance and weight gain. Thus, avoiding those types of foods is important to overall health and wellness and your body will thank you.
I’m thankful I tried the Phyzix MD Cleanse and that it’s enabled me and my family to live a healthier lifestyle on a daily basis.
